I finally got my camera last week and I have been toting it around nonstop taking pictures of everything. I think I am driving Taylor crazy. I am by no means a great photographer. I am really just learning and I know it will take a long time before I am even taking well composed photos by the photography worlds standards. But, I don't want to miss a minute of our lives, a minute of Gideon growing up and I think that is what I am trying to capture. I realized that I can't keep every memory alive in pictures so I am storing them away so I never forget them. I am beginning to see our days, although many times uneventful, in snapshots. If, I blink each time I want to remember something, maybe it will embed itself and stay with me?
snap.
Gideon trying his hardest to suck his thumb and drink his bottle at the SAME time before bed. I keep pulling his hand back but he wants them both so bad.
snap.
Taylor and I staying up for several hours after Gideon goes to bed, just talking about where our life is now and where we see it going.

Rocking my baby at two in the morning. Something is bothering him, but he is content in my arms.

Nala rubbing and purring all over Gideon. He thinks it is hilarious.

Taking our sweet boy to the zoo for the first time. He didn't really look at the animals, but we loved it anyways.

Just woke up hair. I mean, blonde, fuzzy chick-like, sweet hair on a sleepy, smiley little face.
snap.
A squash-covered Gideon and highchair.
snap.
Taylor playing with our son. He is really good at making him laugh. I don't know what they are playing but all I hear while I am making dinner are high-pitched squeals of laughter.
Pictures will never be able to capture how I feel about these moments, but I know I want them while I can get them. I am already all too aware of how fast time is going and I will regret it a million times over if I don't just stop and enjoy it and breathe it in as much as I can. Because all too soon, my snapshots will change.
